So life has changed quite a bit for us in the last two weeks. Matt started his residency and it's been quite an adjustment. I think the next two years will be harder than any one of the four years we just experienced in Dental School. We were definitely spoiled the last two months having him home and playing with us 24/7, and not that we expected life to always be like that, but to go from that to only seeing him for such short periods of time has been an adjustment for all of us. Now we love and cherish any minute we get to play with him.
The boys and I have been trying to be creative on how to spend our days with the temperature SOOO HOT!! We've been exploring life here in a bigger city and love having things to do. However, we spend most our time in a pool or in the A/C. That's probably mostly my fault since being 6 months pregnant brings no desire to be out in the 110 degree weather. Thank goodness for Liz next door or I would probably go crazy without adult conversation and friends for my boys.
Matt loves his program and is so excited to be learning what he is going to be doing the rest of his life. So that makes is easier on all of us knowing that he is enjoying what he is doing.
With Matt's new schedule he goes to the school to read literature all day on Saturdays. So we decided to join him for lunch.

The boys playing in the fountains outside the crown center. I am not sure Ty even got wet he kept running away from the water.

The fountains put on a show for us to music. The boys loved watching them

We ate at FRITZ the restaraunt. It was so fun. A train brings your food around to your table, drops your food off on an elevator and it lowers your food to your table.

Playing on the train waiting to be seated

The Olsen's joined us at the restaraunt. Cute girls Brooklynn and Hadley
NATURE CENTER- I didn't want to sit home all day Saturday so the boys and I (joined a little later with the Olsen's) decided to check out "Party in the Park" we ended up at the nature center which the kids loved.

Alligator snapping turtle. It looked like a dinosaur.

Tyson checking out the antelors

The boys were suppose to be putting on a puppet show. I think they were just fighting over the animals though.
FOURTH OF JULY- in the evening we went to the Cady's house for a BBQ and firework show. It's fun to have friends here from Poky

watching Mike Cady's firework show.

Hurray for sparklers

Grant loved the sparklers

Grant and Brooklynn are pushing Ty and Hadley. So cute

Parkville 4th of July Parade. They loved the small town parade with all the old school cars, firetrucks, candy, and clowns.

Tyson waving to the people in the parade

Our friends at the parade. Lilly, Madison and Angela Cady from Pocatello. On the right is Katie, Madeline, and Daniel Johnson from West Virginia and little Eliza is hiding back there. It's so fun to have so many friends from past cities in Kansas City.

Matt and the boys with Madison and Lilly Cady

Fireworks went off all weekend right by our house. It was so nice we could see fireworks from our driveway so we decided to keep the kids up Sunday night instead of Monday night to watch them. However, we ended up getting home Monday night right as they were going off so we watched them again. They had two super late nights....I think I paid for that all week long.

We had our West Virginia friends over for Sunday Dinner. I made a patriotic dessert and we sang happy birthday to America and let the kids blow out candles. They loved it.

Happy Birthday America
BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR BRADEN

Braden had a pirate birthday party. The boys loved it and had so much fun.
WORLDS OF FUN

Grant going on the Octopus with Ross and Braden

Tyson was hiding from something

I was so bummed this picture is blurry. This is Grant's favorite log ride. It reminds him of Disney world and Sea World. Not quite as cool, but it works.

Ferris Wheel. I rode with Ty and everytime we would come around the top and start to go down he would yell. No No No. I had to distract him with things he could see cause he was trying to climb out.

Tyson on the Ferris Wheel
DEANNA ROSA FARM

Grant has talked about being a cowboy for awhile. So at this farm you could ride horses. He was so excited and brave. He chose the big horse over the pony.

Cute Brooklynn.

Braden Jones

Feeding the huge fish and turtles

Tyson cracks me up. He loves to do this Cheese smile. Love our little butterfly :)

Grant was really brave he went into the cage to feed them. You could buy a bottle to feed the babies. We didn't, but it was fun to watch people.

Cute Olsen family. This is for all you West Virginia people that want to see their cute family too, since she never updates her blog :) (Love ya Liz)

Playing in the water. We had a blast at the farm with Jones and Olsens
